New purchase, no sounds

Hello - I purchased Loud Typer, followed all permissions, but there are no sounds. System sound settings are ok, and other similar apps (with exact same permission settings) work fine. On Macbook Pro M1 running Sonoma. Any ideas before I do a refund? Thanks!

Check the volume control inside the app.
You should hear sounds even in the free version.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Volume is at max in the app. Also redid permissions, rebooted, un-installed, re-installed. No sound yet. Any other ideas?

Maybe there is some incompatible sound configuration in your system.
Loud Typer relies on the macOS sound setup to produce sounds.
The only case when Loud Typer is silent is when typing inside browser password fields or similar places because macOS does not publish keyboard events from such protected locations.

It must be. I installed it on another mac (same OS) worked fine out of the box, but that's not the mac I want it on :(

I'll try a few more things and see if i can get it to work. Thanks for your help!

Got it working! In case anyone runs into the same, I used Control Center to always display sound in the icon bar, and then I clicked "Alt" and the icon to display extra settings. From there I was able to see that headphones were selected as the output (even though no headphones were plugged in and all other sounds were coming from the speakers). Once I switched it to the MacBook speakers, it worked!
